The Drop-Zip® [落とす] is our patent-pending innovation that allows women to use the restroom without removing the upper part of the wetsuit. Simple in concept, but significant in impact. 

Why Drop-Zip®

The idea originated from a real and recurring challenge. Karin, together with her daughter Tuva, identified a pattern among female sailors: many deliberately limit their fluid intake during long sessions on the water to avoid the need for a restroom.

This behavior goes beyond discomfort. Insufficient hydration can negatively affect physical performance, cognitive function, and overall wellbeing. Despite this, wetsuit design has historically overlooked the specific needs of women, while equivalent solutions have long been available in men’s suits.

The Drop-Zip® was developed to address this gap.

Designed for comfort, built for freedom

The Drop-Zip® is engineered with a focus on comfort, discretion, and performance in demanding conditions.

• A double layer of thin neoprene beneath the zipper creates a soft interface against the skin while reducing water ingress.
  
  
• The curved construction follows the natural lines of the body to minimize friction and pressure points.
  
  
• A protective neoprene panel on the upper back section provides coverage when the zipper is opened.

Each component is carefully considered to integrate seamlessly into the wetsuit, without compromising flexibility or durability.

Supporting real conditions

Extended time on the water presents additional challenges, including managing menstruation in environments where access to facilities is limited. This often requires planning around constraints rather than performance.

The Drop-Zip® offers a more practical and accessible alternative. By simplifying access when needed, it reduces disruption and allows for greater focus and continuity during activity.

Although initially developed within sailing, the Drop-Zip® has proven relevant across a wide range of watersports - including surfing, diving, and foiling. Its adoption highlights a broader, long-unaddressed need within the industry.

The Drop-Zip® has been developed by Noora in close collaboration with AXXE and CWORLD. By combining their advanced zipper technology with our user-driven design, we’ve created something entirely new.
